Temple Emeth Family Worship 2010-2011

Holiday Celebrations 2010-2011. (Services begin at 7:30 pm unless noted otherwise)

  • September 22 – Erev Sukkot Service and Consecration of New Students
  • September 29 – Simchat Torah Service
  • December 3 – Chanukah Dinner at 6:00 pm
  • March 19 – Purim Megillah Reading
  • April 19 – Second Night Congregational Seder at 6:00 pm
  • June 7 – Shavuot Service and Confirmation at 7:45 pm
On the second and (when applicable) fifth Fridays of the month, Temple Emeth services take on the character of the Reform Movement, with a balance of Hebrew and English, a wide variety of melodies old and new, and a sermon by the rabbi or a guest speaker. On the fourth Friday of the month, our services focus more closely on our relationships with God.

Family Shabbat Services are scheduled for 7:30 pm on September 3, October 1, November 5, December 3, January 7, February 11, March 4, April 1, May 6 and June 3.

Shabbat morning services are held every Saturday morning at 10:30 am, preceded by Torah Study at 9:10 am.

This year, as part of the URJ’s Shabbat Initiative, Temple Emeth’s Shabbat Morning Task Force has scheduled creative special services for Saturday mornings. They include:

  • November 13, 2010 – “Shabbat For All”
  • June 11, 2011 – “Shabbat For All”
Shabbat Music Service at 8:00 pm. October 15, November 19, December 17, January 21, February 18, March 18, April 15, May 20 and June 17.The festive service includes the Temple Band and encourages congregant participation in singing, clapping and even dancing. Tot Shabbat Services – 9:30 am. September 11, October 16, November 13 (at 10:30 am), December 11, January 8, February 12, March 19, April 16, May 14 and June 11. Bring your very young children to sit on the Bimah while Cantor Tilem leads favorite Shabbat songs and prayers. Rabbi Sirbu makes an appearance to tell a story, and the service is followed by bagels for all. Please contact Karen Sacks or the Temple office for more information.
