Temple Emeth B’YachadB’yachad’s mission is to use the diverse talents of its members to make a difference in their lives and our communities. B’yachad is achieving this end by engaging the Temple membership in meaningful projects and activities aimed at serving the interests of the congregation and of these communities. While doing this, B’yachad is also giving Temple members an opportunity to celebrate together different aspects of our Jewish spirit and heritage. What are B’yachad’s activities?We raise funds in support of the Temple, which are used toward:
B’yachad supplies the food sold at Bazaar and at other functions. The proceeds of these food sales are donated to the Temple. We are the Temple source for “Entertainment” Books, which provide price discounts and other benefits at many popular establishments, including airlines and car rentals. We sponsor and host the Rabbi’s Sunday morning Breakfast Series, at which our Rabbi discusses topics of particular interest with the Temple membership and guests. In addition, at several Sunday morning Breakfasts, a guest speaker is featured. We host the Model Interfaith Seder, bringing together delegations from non-Jewish congregations in the Teaneck area in order to experience a model Seder. We organize, and join in building, Temple Emeth’s Succah. We have sponsored social events, including Tennis Parties , Family Picnics , Shabbat Dinners , Wine Tastings , Trips to places of Jewish interest , Trips to Sporting Events , and Theatre Parties . We are active participants in the activities of the Jewish Chautauqua Society. JCS promotes interfaith understanding through a variety of unique educational programs directed toward all age groups. These include visits to the Jewish Museum, a Scholar in Residence program and an “Adopt-a-Book Program” which donates thousands of books on Judaica to libraries and schools. We are involved in Environmental Projects, including: Tree Plantings Nature Hikes Windsor Park ‘Adopt-a-Park’ caretakers. We co-host the annual Temple Tu B’shvat Seder, celebrating the New Year of trees. B’Yachad ProgramsAll B’yachad breakfasts begin at 10:00 am with a short service.
