Torah Study

Shabbat Morning Torah Study is held on Saturday mornings at 9:10 am in the Temple Youth Lounge. Join Rabbi Sirbu in an informal and lively study of Torah. Study begins promptly at 9:10 am and concludes in time for our Shabbat morning service at 10:30 am. Coffee and bagels are served beginning at 9:00 am.

On April 13, Rabbi David Saperstein will lead the group on The Jewish Response: Economic Justice: Testing the Morality of our Nation. For 3,000 years, Judaism has developed a powerful religious imperative, for both individuals and societies, to transform the world for good. How does the Jewish tradition view religion's role in shaping the Jewish community's view on economic justice policies? This session will focus on primary text sources.

On April 20, Torah Study will be held at 9:00 a.m. at Temple Sinai in Tenafly, led by Rabbi Jordan Millstein.

On April 27, Rabbi Sirbu will continue to lead the group in the study of Numbers, Parashat Korach, Chapter 16, Verse 1 on page 1003 of Rabbi Gunther Plaut's The Torah: A Modern Commentary (Revised Edition). The Torah: A Modern  Commentary (Revised Edition) was published by the URJ's Reform Judaism Press and has the full Hebrew text as well as a new translation intended to convey the text in a modern way.
