Welcome from Our President

We at Temple Emeth are delighted that you are exploring your interest in our congregation. Here are some of the things that make Temple Emeth such a warm, spiritual, fun, and inviting place:

• Our clergy team of Rabbi Steven Sirbu and Cantor Ellen Tilem bring a love of prayer, humor, and song to our bimah. They offer innovative, diverse, and creative worship experiences so that services offer each member a chance to connect with God. Recognizing the healing powers of prayer, special services are geared towards those in need of healing. Others are created to be fun for small children (or those young at heart!).

• In our Religious School , each child is cherished; the curriculum instills a love of being Jewish and of learning about our traditions.  We encourage family involvement in every aspect of their child’s education.

• We are committed to tikkun olam, the restoration of our world: we are partners in the Bergen County Sanctuary Committee, the Family Promise homeless shelter program, UJA Mitzvah Day, a Muslim-Jewish dialogue and countless other worthy projects.

• We understand that a synagogue is where people of all backgrounds, including Jews by birth, Jews-by-Choice and non-Jewish spouses or partners, come seeking fellowship and community. We offer opportunities for this community building through programs, social events, education, and volunteer roles.

We invite you to visit us to see for yourself why we love Temple Emeth. Please come on over! We encourage you to attend a Shabbat service, an Adult Ed class, or a social event in the near future. Please contact us and we will be sure that someone will greet you and introduce you to our congregation.

If you have any questions, I am happy to speak with you, or you can always email me or call our office at 201-833-1322 during business hours.
