Broadway is widely known to be "very Jewish" in terms of theater makers and theatergoers, but shows with Jewish content are much rarer. Here are five great shows with Jewish characters and plots that are NOT Fiddler on the Roof: Falsettos, Ragtime, Parade, The Band's Visit, and Harmony. The shows will be presented with plenty of clips and time for questions.

David Benkof, “The Broadway Maven,” has been teaching Broadway appreciation and Jewish Culture 101 online for more than four years. The author of two books, he holds a master's degree from Stanford in history and taught in-person high school and adult education for many years. With his online courses, David aims to help students think more deeply about musical theater. His thorough knowledge and love for Broadway is triply expressed: his Weekly Blast, his classes, and his YouTube channel.
