OUR SPEAKER:
Dr. Linda Burghardt, Ph.D. is a scholar-in-residence at the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center in Nassau County. She is a journalist and author who grew up in New York. As the daughter of two Holocaust survivors from Vienna, her work has always been guided by her heritage. She has worked for 20 years as a freelance reporter for The New York Times and has contributed news articles and essays to numerous other publications, in addition to being the author of three books. Dr. Burghardt earned her Ph.D. from Long Island University in a combined program of Holocaust Studies and Information Science. She holds a Master’s degree from CUNY and is a graduate of Bronx High School.
